  Renee Caldwell was recommended to me. With Mom's passing, I cannot tell you how much I relied on Renee for on what to do next. She gave it freely without any committment as I came to grips with a death in the Family. So after that I decided to hire her for more of her help and advice even though a nearby mortuary handled the cremation. Like your wisest Aunt, she guided us through the decisions to make, helped with the obituary and newspaper, paid everyone for us so we only had one payment to make for her. She was the crutch I could lean on. I am so grateful for the patient understanding way she took me through everything. I am so glad she was recommended to me.

  This review is written regarding a residential property my girlfriend and I rented from Renee Caldwell, owner and operator of Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria, Oregon. I understand that this is not the most apt location for such a thing, but after reading Victor's review, I felt that I had to corroborate Renee's unprofessionalism. In the time that we were renting, she often would stop by the house unannounced, which was annoying to say the least. It didn't compare, however, to a year into our lease, when Renee and her attorney decided that we were using an inordinate amount of electricity, which was included in the rental price, and that we should be charged retroactively an extra $100 for all the months we had been there. They also informed us at that time that they would begin charging us an additional $400 for use of the house's garage, which we already had our things in! No lie, with all the additional charges due in 10 days! Do yourself a favor, and avoid doing business with this woman in any capacity.
